Samuel’s award winning work is hard to define. Its uniqueness is its strength, as he applies new and varied techniques to every project. In both concept and craft, he forms dynamic and engaging visual images that are fantastic yet accessible. His honest and human characters are always real and emotionally driven – combining to create films that are always talked about and relished. With a strong handle on visual effects and performance direction, Samuel is a creator of films, commercials, music videos, and video installations that inspire and move audiences.

Born and raised in Sydney Australia, Samuel made his directing debut with university plays. He then moved onto short films and quickly music videos, directing many award winning clips for Australian bands including INXS, Rogue Traders, Grinspoon, and Bluejuice. On the strength of these, Samuel was picked up Internationally and relocated to London where he worked on large projects for the BBC.

Samuel’s commercial work includes films for VW, McDonalds, Johnson & Johnson, Castrol, Ebay, Powerade, and Canon. His TVC for ‘The Road and Traffic Authority’ is one of the longest running TVC’s currently on air in Australia. His short film ‘What They Don’t Know’ was the opening film of Australia’s prestigious St Kilda Film Festival and won an award at Sydney’s Flickerfest. It was also part of the official selection for the Austin Film Festival and a number of other international festivals.More recently Samuel’s work for Curtain University, Powerade and Australian Rugby Union (ARU) have been awarded for their visual effects
